These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your use of the Arzo website and platform ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Arzo is an AI-powered college application coaching platform. References to "Arzo," "we," "us," or "our" in this Agreement refer to the operator of this Service.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at hello@tryarzo.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if we determine you have violated this Agreement or if your conduct would harm our reputation or other users.
You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their authorization. Providing false information during registration may result in immediate termination of your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and consented to these terms on your behalf.
Arzo offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at the time of purchase. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Subscription pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and may be updated with advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
Annual subscriptions are billed as a single upfront payment for the full year at the discounted rate displayed at checkout.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access to paid features until that date. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods or previously billed fees.
After cancellation, your account reverts to the free tier. Your essay drafts and account data remain accessible in accordance with our Data Retention policy below.
Our Service uses artificial intelligence technology provided by Anthropic (Claude) to deliver coaching features including Story Mining, Story Building, Polish, and the Activities Optimizer. These features are designed to help students develop their college application materials through guided conversation and feedback.
By using our AI-powered features, you agree that:
AI-generated coaching, feedback, and suggestions are for educational and informational purposes only. They may contain errors or limitations. You are responsible for your own application materials. We do not guarantee that using our Service will produce any particular outcome in the college application process.
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant Arzo a limited license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your essays or application materials to train AI models.
Arzo is a coaching and preparation tool, not a professional admissions counseling service. College admissions decisions depend on many factors entirely outside our control. We make no representation, warranty, or guarantee that use of the Service will result in admission to any college or university. You are solely responsible for your application materials, deadlines, and the accuracy of information you submit to institutions.
We strongly encourage you to verify all information through official college sources and to consult qualified educational professionals as appropriate.
You may not use the Service:
All trademarks, content, features, and technology associated with Arzo are owned by or licensed to us. This Agreement does not transfer any intellectual property rights to you. Your use of the Service grants you no right to reproduce, modify, or distribute our content or technology.
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.

Anthropic, our AI provider, may retain API data for up to 30 days for safety monitoring in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Upon account deletion, we will process your request within 30 days. Certain data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before automatic deletion. Data required for legal compliance may be retained longer.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach this Agreement or if we determine that continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arzo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or any college admissions outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arzo and its affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of this Agreement.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. You hereby waive any right to a jury trial in any proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of this Agreement will continue in full force and effect.
Arzo shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, government actions, internet or infrastructure failures, or other unforeseeable events.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our prior written consent. We may freely assign or transfer this Agreement, in whole or in part, without restriction — for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Any attempt by you to assign this Agreement without consent will be null and void.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement.
